Samuel Paul Hoffeditz, 81, of Villa Ridge, Mo., and formerly of Linton, passed away at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2004 at his home in Villa Ridge.
Born May 21, 1923 in Linton, he was the son of Albert and Hazel (Cullison) Hoffeditz.
Samuel was an Army veteran of World War II. He served as a pastor for 30 years throughout Indiana, Illinois, Missouri, and Arkansas at Bible churches. He attended the Villa Ridge Baptist Church in Villa Ridge, Mo.
Survivors include: his wife Ruth (Griffith) Hoffeditz of Villa Ridge, Mo.; two sons, Larry Hoffeditz of St. Louis, Mo. and Greg Hoffeditz of Villa Ridge, Mo.; three brothers, Melvin Hoffeditz of Brazil, Cecil Hoffeditz of Plainfield, and Raymond Hoffeditz of Pittsboro; two sisters, Joan Higar of Indianapolis and Carolyn Wilson of Lewis; and two grandchildren, Brad Hoffeditz of St. Louis, Mo. and Shaun Hoffeditz of Kirksville, Mo.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a son Donald Hoffeditz, who passed away April 12, 1970.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. on Thursday at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home Linton Chapel with Pastor Steve Talpus officiating. Burial will follow at Dugger Cemetery.
Friends may call Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
