Wilford Gart Salmon, 85, of Orleans, passed away at 6:15 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 14, 2004 at his residence.
Born Oct. 5, 1919 in Shoals, Martin County, he was the son of Hershell and Lottie (Beard) Salmon. He married Dale R. (Reclite) Salmon in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., in November 1943.
He was an U.S. Army veteran and retired from Crane NWSC as a munitions builder. He also had worked at Walnut Hill Cemetery.
Survivors include: his wife Dale R. (Reclite) Salmon of Orleans; three sons, Gart Salmon of Colton, Ore., Jessie Salmon of Fishers, and Frank Salmon of Gallatin, Tenn.; five grandchildren, Rachael Salmon of Colton, Ore., Tisha Chancey of Pensacola, Fla., Kerish Martin of Colton, Ore., Rodney Salmon of Fishers, and Jessica Miller of Odon; six great-grandchildren; and three brothers, Tommy Salmon, Harry Salmon, and Ray Salmon, all of Shoals.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Web, Dexter, Bob, and Junior Salmon; one sister Francis; and one grandson Gart Salmon.
Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. on Monday at Walnut Hill Cemetery, Odon, with burial to follow.
There will be no public visitation.
