BARGERSVILLE ---- Elmina Hope (Barrett) Lawrence, 81, of Bargersville, passed away Sunday, Oct. 24, 2004 at Homeview Center of Franklin.
Born Feb. 17, 1923 in Petersburg, she was the daughter of James W. and Arminta (Davidson) Barrett. She married Wilmer Lawrence on March 17, 1946 in Linton.
She was a 1941 graduate of Linton-Stockton High School and a 1964 graduate of the University of Indianapolis. She received her Masters at Indiana University and taught at Franklin High School for 19 years, retiring in 1985. She was a member at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Greenwood Ward II and a member of the Franklin Senior Citizens Club and the Retired Teachers Association.
Survivors include: her husband Wilmer Lawrence; a daughter Barbara Bremer of San Pedro, Calif.; a sister Georgia Aston of San Diego, Calif.; and two grandchildren, Charles and Robert Bremer of Redondo, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one son David Lawrence, who passed away in 1961.
Funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Friday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Greenwood Ward II, 201 Eastview, Franklin. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Linton.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday at the Vandivier-Tudor Funeral Home, 951 N. Main St., Franklin.
