Garrett Sargent, 95, of Sandborn, passed away at 4:15 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2004 at Freelandville Community Home.
Born Nov. 25, 1908 in Martin County, he was the son of Homer and Nell (Garrett) Sargent. He had been married to Farrel (Baker) Sargent, who passed away Aug. 7, 2000.
He was a farmer, a 50-year member of the Sandborn Masonic Lodge, a member of the Sandborn Baptist Church and the Sandborn Lions Club.
Survivors include: three sons, Oral Kay Sargent of Sandborn, Rowe Dean Sargent of Bicknell and Roger Gary Sargent of Newberry; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Garnett Sargent Williams of Washington and Treva Sargent Duckworth of Clermont, Fla.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Farrel (Baker) Sargent; three brothers, Homer Jr., Glenn and Ivan Sargent, and two sisters, Leva Sargent Mitchell and Hazel Sargent Rush.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at Sandborn Baptist Church with Pastor Mark Thompson officiating. Burial will be in Sandborn Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. on Friday at Sandborn Baptist Church.
