Rex Sparks, 77, of Bloomfield, passed away at 5:30 a.m., Monday, Aug. 30. 2004 at Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis.
Born May 30, 1927 in Greene County, he was the son of Otis Lloyd and Goldie (Blaker) Sparks. He was married to Irene (Hamlin) Sparks.
He was a self-employed farmer and a member of the Methodist faith.
Survivors include: his wife Irene Sparks of Bloomfield; three daughters, Patricia and her husband Steve Phillips of Linton, Linda and her husband Jim Davis of Bloomington, and Mary Padgett of Fountain City; two sisters, Corrine Burcham and Beulah Ravenna, both of Bedford; and six grandchildren, Karen Vair of Nacogdochos, Texas, C.J. Davis of Bloomington, Kimbi Ault of Delphi, Erica Lane of Richmond, and Jeremy Phillips and James Phillips, both of Linton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Mike Sparks, who passed away in 1978, and a brother Dale Sparks.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday at Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home, Bloomfield with the Rev. Billy Ed Hostettler officiating. Burial will be at Grandview Cemetery Bloomfield.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today, and one hour prior to service Thursday at the funeral home.
