Robert E. Verseman, 72, of Linton, passed away at 6:57 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 5, 2004, at Greene County General Hospital.
Born Dec. 2, 1931 in Linton, he was the son of Henry and Gertrude (Kuppers) Verseman. He married Roselie M. "Rosie" Currans on April 27, 1956.
He was an U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He worked at Crane as supervisor at Blocking/Bracing Ordinance for 28 years, retiring in 1988. He graduated from Switz City High School with the class of 1949. He belonged to St. Peter Catholic Church, served on the Linton-Stockton School Board, was involved with several youth activities including youth football and baseball and also served as president of the A.M. Risher Memorial Swimming Pool.
Survivors include: his wife Rosie (Currens) Verseman; two sons, Robert Joseph and his wife Michelle Verseman of Terre Haute, and Keith Alan Verseman of Linton; one daughter Kathy Lynn Campbell of Linton; two grandchildren, Betsy and Dalton Verseman of Terre Haute; and one brother Gerhart Verseman of Jasonville.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mass of Resurrection will be at St. Peter Church at 10 a.m. on Wednesday with the Rev. Hilary Vieck officiating. Burial will be at Switz City Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today at Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel Linton. There will be a scripture service at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
