SULLIVAN - Douglas M. Debusk, 76, of Sullivan, passed away at 1:09 a.m. Friday, September 10,. 2004 at Millers Merry Manor.
Born December 6, 1927 in Rose Hill, Va., he was the son of Harve and Alice (Turner) Debusk.
Douglas retired from Amax Coal Company in 1989 after 30 years of service and was a 50 year member of the UMWA. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, and was a member of Sullivan American Legion Post 139, Sullivan Masonic Lodge 263, Scottish Rite, Valley of Terre Haute, Sullivan Elks 911, and Elks Rinky Dinks Golf Club. He was an avid golfer, hunter and fisherman.
Survivors include: his wife Janis M. (Sampsell) Debusk of Sullivan; a son Douglas Debusk and his wife Barbara of Kendallville; a daughter Lana Debusk of West Lafayette; two grandchildren, Jana Debusk and Ryan Debusk and his wife Melinda; one great-grandson Keillan Debusk; and two brothers, Colby Debusk of Gray, Tenn. and Smith Debusk of Gulston, Ky.
He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., with visitation two hours prior, on Monday at Alexander-Kean Funeral Home Sullivan with Rev. Rim Fleace officiating. Burial will be at Center Ridge Cemetery Sullivan. Military graveside services will be conducted by the American Legion Post 139 Sullivan, Shelburn Post 197 and Hymera Post 298.
Visitation was on Sunday with a Masonic Lodge Service.
