Charles W. Moffatt, 80, of Marco, passed away at 11:01 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 10, 2004 at his residence.
Born Sept. 6, 1924 in Orangeville, he was the son of Charles Clinton and Bessie (Goodpaster) Moffatt.
He retired from NWSC after 18 years and later worked for the State Highway Department and owned his own trash service. He was a veteran of World War II. He attended the United Methodist Church in Marco and was a member of the American Legion of Linton and the VFW of Worthington.
Survivors include, his wife Lois (Sparks) Moffatt of Marco; four sons, Eugene Moffatt of Plainfield, Dean Moffatt of LaQuinta, Calif., Doug Moffatt of Loogootee, and Troy Moffatt of Marco; one step son Jeff Myers of Linton; three daughters, Pamela Cox of Marco, Kathi Brosmer of West Baden, and Rhonda Kaiser of Raglesville; one step daughter Nancy Anderson of Linton; three sisters, Daisy Stevens of Rushville, Lois Anderson of French Lick, and Loretta Hall of Florida; two brothers, Richard Moffatt of Marco and Chester Moffatt of French Lick; 17 grandchildren; three step grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and five step great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. on Tuesday at Newkirk's Funeral Home in Dugger with the Rev. Don Reed officiating. Burial will be in Marco Cemetery with military graveside rites by the Linton American Legion Post 22.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. today and before service Tuesday at the funeral home.
