Robert Melvin Talley, 60, of Burkesville Ky., formerly of Worthington, passed away at 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 19, 2004 at his sister's, Jean Plummer, residence in Linton.
Born Oct. 27, 1943 in Bloomfield, he was the son of Morton and Fredia (Funkhouser) Talley. He married Jennifer (Zook) Talley on Nov. 23, 1999.
He was a pipefitter at Eli Lilly in Indianapolis, retiring after 33 years of service and then moving to Kentucky. He was a devoted member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Burkesville, Ky. He was an avid fisherman.
Survivors include: his wife Jennifer (Zook) Talley; a daughter Jennifer Harmon of Worthington; a son Jason Harmon of Florence, Ky.; two stepsons, Jason Thompson of Myakka City, Fla. and Joshua Lintz of the United States Marine Corp. serving in Iraq; two stepdaughters, Sheri Ann Kerley of West Warnick, R.I. and Lindsey Woodall of Spring Hill, Fla.; four sisters, Ruth Ann Love of Linton, Karen Wells of Bloomington, Joan Jean of Bloomington, and Jean Plummer of Linton; one brother Joe Talley of Jonesborough, Tenn.; and seven grandchildren, Clay and Cole Burton, Mackenzie and Sydney Harmon, Jalyn and James Thompson, and Isabella Kerley.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial service will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Tuesday at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness in Bloomfield with Elder Mike Piersall officiating. There will be no visitation.
The family has requested that donations be made to the Robert Talley fund, c/o Jennifer Talley, 1388 Garrett Creek Road, Burkesville, Ky., 42717. Funds will be donated for the Worldwide Work of Jehovah's Witness.
