A memorial service was conducted Sept. 19, 2004 for Blanche Rowe Crenshaw in the garden of her former home near Howesville in Clay County.
She was born Dec. 23, 1910, the daughter of Frank and Nettie Horton Rowe.
She was married on July 23, 1932 to Robert Morris Crenshaw, who currently resides in Desert Hot Springs, Calif. After their marriage, the newlyweds left for Lafayette, where Robert attended Purdue University. After his graduation in 1936, they lived in Marion. Subsequent residences included Weirton, W.V., Steubenville, Ohio, and Schnectady, N.Y. In 1949, they finally settled in San Carlos, Calif. in the San Francisco Bay area.
Blanche was living in a nursing home in Sonora, Calif. when she passed away on Christmas Eve Day, Dec. 24, 2003, just a day after her 93rd birthday.
Those attending the memorial service from California were her daughters, Geri de Moss of San Andreas and Jeanne Logan and her husband Ron of Sonora and her brother and his wife Mr. and Mrs. Wilburn Rowe and nephew John Rowe from Jasonville.
She had four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, one grand niece, two grand nephews, and one great-grand nephew.
