Sharon S. Slapp, 65, of Bicknell and formerly of Virginia Beach, Va., passed away at 6:31 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 25, 2004 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes.
Born July 24, 1939 in Bicknell, she was the daughter of Thomas and Lurene (Kinnamon) Ruminer.
She had worked at Wal-Mart and lastly at the Shell Station in Bicknell. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bicknell and had served in the U.S. Navy for six years.
Survivors include: nieces, Joyce and Roy Mason of Linton, Nancy Jo and John Correll of Dumfries, Va., April Celeste Sims of Warner Robins, Ga., Cheryl and Starline Sims of Bicknell and Rebecca and Billy Smith of Vincennes nephew George Ruminer of Philadelphia, Pa.; seven great-nieces; eight great-nephews; six great-great nieces and nephews; and two sisters, Lucille and Don Bowers of Bicknell and Betty and LaVerne Tilly of Bicknell.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John Slapp, a niece and a nephew.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at Bicknell First Baptist Church with Rev. Ralph McVay officiating. She will be cremated and entombment will be at Bicknell Memorial Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday at McClure-Utt Funeral Home in Bicknell.
