Wayne E. Davis, 84, of Bloomfield, passed away at 11:23 p.m., Aug. 3, 2004 at Greene County General Hospital.
Born Oct. 29, 1919 in Greene County, he was the son of Fletcher and Inez (Rainbolt) Davis. He was married to Grace (Keck) Davis.
He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a homebuilder in the area and then worked at Harrah Manufacturing until retiring. He belonged to the Walnut Grove Church of God, Bloomfield American Legion Post and a Life Member Bloomfield VFW.
Survivors include: his wife Grace (Keck) Davis of Bloomfield; one brother Virgil Davis of Bloomfield; one sister Isabelle Binkley of Ashland City, Tenn.; and one sister-in-law Virginia Davis of Bloomington.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Ivan Davis and one sister Beulah Catron.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. on Friday at Walnut Grove Church of God Bloomfield with the Rev. Al Rockey officiating. Burial will be at Walnut Grove Cemetery Bloomfield.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today at Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home Bloomfield, and at the church from noon until the hour of service Friday.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Greene County unit.
