Dorothy M. Padgett, 89, formerly of Worthington, passed away Tuesday morning, Aug. 10, 2004 at Bethesda Meadows in St. Louis, Mo.
Born July 27, 1915 in Terre Haute, she was the daughter of Otto and Lilly (Smith) Sutton. She had been married to Ivan Padgett, who passed away May 24, 2000.
She was a homemaker, and she and her husband lived most of their married years in Indianapolis. After retirement, they moved to Worthington. She lived in Jasper the last 10 years, and moved to St. Louis in July of this year. She was a member of Folsom Memorial United Methodist Church in Worthington and attended Shiloh United Methodist Church in Jasper.
Survivors include: one son Larry Padgett and his wife Diana of St. Louis, Mo.; one daughter Linda and her husband Mike Ahern of Jasper; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two half-sisters, Elsie Tolson of Carmel and Louise Diekhoff of Rush Sprinks, Okla.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ivan Padgett, one granddaughter Holly Hogue and one half-brother Bob Sutton.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Worthington with the Rev. Steve Seitz and the Rev. Gerald Frye officiating. Burial will be in Worthington Cemetery.
Friends may call after 11 a.m. on Saturday until the time of service at the funeral home.
