Virginia Maxine (Samford) Hasler, 84, of Bloomfield, passed away at 5:32 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 12, 2004 at Clarion-Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis
Born Feb. 3, 1920 in Chrisman, Ill., she was the daughter of James Matterson Samford and Catherine (Lucas) Samford Brinkerhoff. On Aug. 5, 1939, she married Garland Forst Hasler.
She was a homemaker and a member of Bloomfield United Methodist Church and Order of Eastern Star, Newberry Chapter.
Survivors include: one daughter LaVerne and her husband Richard Laxen of Houston, Texas; two sons, Dwight F. Hasler and his wife Lynne of Cocoa Beach, Fla., and Donald E. Hasler and his wife Janet of Lyons; seven grandchildren, Commander Mark R. Laxen, Lori Laxen-Brown and her husband Richard, Erich D. Hasler and his wife Chelle, Michael E. Hasler and his wife Dena, Linda Cornelius and her husband Chris, Diana M. Hasler and Christian J. Hasler; seven great-grandchildren, Morgan, Madilyn, Grace and Melanie Hasler and Hunter, Brayton and Olivia Cornelius; and two sisters, June Unseld of Paris, Ill., and Willella Bubeck and her husband Frank of West Union, Ill.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral service was at Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel 2:30 p.m. on Sunday with the Rev. David Owen officiating. Burial was in Prairie Chapel Cemetery, Newberry.
