Wanita Lucile Wiles, 86, of Solsberry, passed away at 12 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 20, 2004 at Hospitality House Bloomington.
Born March 13, 1918 in Greene County, she was the daughter of Frank and Retta (Cox) Thompson.
She retired in 1980 after working for 26 years in the housekeeping department at Indiana University. She attended Solsberry Methodist Church and was a member of the Ladies Aid at the church and a member of DAV 099 Auxiliary Bloomfield.
Survivors include: two daughters, Ada Fern Hamm of Martinsville and Iris Hash of Bloomfield; one son Franklin D. Wiles of Solsberry; three half sisters, Marybelle Hacker, Violet Norris, and Lorene Cain, all of Bloomington; 15 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter Juanita Ilene Patterson in 1972; two sons, Loren K. Wiles in 2001 and Billy Joe Wiles in 2000; one great-great-granddaughter; and four half brothers.
Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. today at Jenkins Funeral Home Bloomfield. Burial will be at Solsberry Cemetery.
Visitation was from 4-8 p.m. on Sunday and from noon until the time of service today at the funeral home.
