Francis J. Surelle, 79, of Ocala, Fla., and formerly of Fort Wayne, passed away at 7:40 a.m. Friday, Aug. 20, 2004 at Ocala Regional Medical Center, Ocala, Fla.
He was born April 3, 1925 in Syracuse, New York.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He worked in maintenance at Magnavox in Fort Wayne for 40 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Ocala and the American Legion in Lake Wales, Fla.
Survivors include: his wife June (Kerth) Surelle of Ocala; eight step-daughters, Thelma Martindale of Switz City, Carol Cox of Bloomfield, Connie Neal of Lake Wales, Fla., Barbara Hall of Bloomington, Patty Cox of Solsberry, Nancy Little of Bloomfield, Sharon Barnes of Crane and Mary Kirk of Sedro Woolley, Wash.; three step-sons, Harry Carpenter of Momence, Ill., Charles Miller of Worthington, and David Miller of Shawano, Wis.; 20 step grandchildren; and 16 step great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. today at Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home Bloomfield with the Rev. David Miller and the Rev. Samuel Hill officiating. Burial will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne.
Friends called from 9-11 a.m. today at the funeral home. Cemetery services will be at 1 p.m. on Thursday at Greenlawn Memorial Park at the Cemetery Chapel in Fort Wayne.
