Fred D. Zellars, 76, of Sullivan, passed away at 10:15 a.m. Wednesday June 30, 2004 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
Born Aug. 11, 1928 in Sullivan County, he was the son of Herman and Zella (Poe) Zellars. He had been married to Clara F. Zellars, who preceded him in death in 1986.
He was retired from the Sullivan County Highway Department.
Survivors include: three sons, John Ed Zellars, Fred D. Zellars Jr., and Danny W. Zellars, all of Sullivan; five daughters, Sharon R. Zellars of Florida, Ruby K. Southwood of Shelburn, Lori Pearison and Angela Woods, both of Sullivan, Lisa Zellars of Lyons; one brother Richard Zellars, Sr. of Terre Haute; 19 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Kenneth and James Zellars; two daughters, Karen Moore and Sandra Sue Wilson; three brothers, Harold, Herman, Jr., and Bobby; and four sisters Alice, Nettie, Dorothy and Ruthie.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday at Alexander-Kean Funeral Home Sullivan with the Rev. Rick Southwood officiating. Burial will be at Little Flock Cemetery Shelburn.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the time of service Saturday.
