Wayne E. Rushton, 79, of Bloomfield, passed away at 4 p.m. Monday, July 12, 2004 at his residence.
Born Oct. 1, 1924 in Monrovia, he was the son of Harry and Alice (Hadley) Rushton.
An Army veteran of World War II, he had retired from Allison's in Indianapolis in 1995 after 28 years of service. He was a member of Christian Church in Avon and the Masonic Lodge in Cartersburg.
Survivors include: his wife Katharine "Kathy" (Baldwin) Rushton of Bloomfield; one son Don Rushton of Indianapolis; two daughters, Deloris Hayden of Martinsville and Shelly Robinson of Indianapolis; one step-son Patrick McGowen of Bloomfield; two step-daughters, Pam Henry of Bloomfield and Shannon Wallace of Clermont; 11 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; two brothers, Raymond Rushton of Florida and Bernard Rushton of Plainfield; one sister Wilma Pine of Indianapolis.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son Larry Rushton, one step-daughter Connie Walker and one brother Robert Rushton.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Worthington. Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Hall
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today, and from 9 a.m. until the time of service Thursday at the funeral home.
