Paul E. Gardner, 72, of Solsberry, passed away Saturday, July 17, 2004, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Hospital in Carmel.
Born April 28, 1932 in Hoopston, Ill., he was the son of Jesse M. and Minnie (Davis) Gardner.
Paul was a retired plumber and steamfitter with Local 136, a member of the Pentecostal Faith Assembly, Solsberry Masonic Lodge 411, Solsberry Eastern Star 547 and was a member of the Board of Directors with the Eastern Heights Utilities Corporation.
Survivors include: his wife Mary Lou (Axsom) Gardner of Solsberry; one daughter Diana Deckard of Bloomington; one son Ted Gardner of Solsberry; four grandchildren, Amber James of Hannibal, Mo., Ashlie Gourley of Gosport, Theodore Paul Gardner III of Bloomington, and Travis Gardner of Solsberry; three great-grandchildren, Tyler James and Taylor Ann Gardner and Andrew Braxton Gourley; three brothers, Charles Gardner and David Gardner, both of Bloomington, and Robert "Bob" Gardner of Ellettsville; and four sisters, Betty Butcher of Indianapolis, Sharon Nicholson and Jane Chandler, both of Bloomington, and Sue Parrish of Ocala, Fla.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Pentecostal Faith Assembly, W. 11th, Bloomington with Rev.s Michael Douglas, Fred Stanger, Neal Pedro and Kenneth James officiating. Burial will be at Valhalla Memory Gardens, Bloomington.
Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday at Allen Funeral Home, 3000 E. Third St., Bloomington and at the church on Wednesday one hour prior to services.
