Lena Belle Blanton, 92, of Linton, passed away at 11:10 p.m., Sunday, May 30, 2004 at Glenburn Home in Linton.
Born Feb. 5, 1912 in Greene County, she was the daughter of Fay and Clara Belle (Jackson) Smith.
She was a homemaker and member of the Lawton Street Christian Church in Jasonville, the Wednesday Research Club of Linton and the Quilt Guild of Linton.
Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Gerald Blanton and his wife Joanne of Linton; a daughter-in-law, Gayle Blanton of Oviedo, Fla.; one brother, Walter Smith of Cedar Lake; two sisters, Ruby Perigo of Shelbyville and Ruth Shreve of Indianapolis; five grandchildren, Sue Ann Preble of Linton, Michael J. Blanton of Sandborn, Kimberly Blanton of Boston, Mass., William Blanton of Orlando, Fla., and Roger Blanton of Vernon Hills, Ill., and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Alvin Blanton; a son Leland Blanton; four brothers, Garrett, Lee, Floyd and Claudie Smith; and two sisters, Evelyn Vaughn and Maudie Blaesser.
Funeral service will be at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home Linton Chapel at 10 a.m. on Wednesday with Warren Shake officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Linton.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. today, and after 9 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association through the funeral home.
