Samuel A. Lloyd, 83, of Farmersburg, passed away at 8:08 a.m. Tuesday, June 8, 2004 at Sullivan Health and Living Center.
Born March 26, 1921 in Shelburn, he was the son of Elmer and Eva (Wolfe) Lloyd.
He was formerly employed at Taylor Mail Service in Terre Haute. He was a World War II veteran of the 10th Mountain Division, a member of the Farmersburg Church of Christ and a lifetime member of the VFW Post 972 of Terre Haute.
Survivors include: his wife Eva Mae (Walters) Lloyd of Farmersburg; one daughter Deanna Sue Roseman of Indianapolis; two step sons, Thomas Vester and his wife Teresa of Muncie and Richard Vester and his wife Deea of North Webster; one brother Max Lloyd and his wife Mary of Silver Springs, Fla.; a sister-in-law Pansy Parr of Sullivan; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Bernard Lloyd and Chester Lloyd, and a sister Bernice Havel.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Friday at Newkirk & Sons Funeral Home in Dugger with the Bro. Mitch Hoesman officiating. Burial will be in Woodward Cemetery south of Dugger with military graveside rites by Terre Haute VFW Post 972.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, and before the service Friday at the funeral home.
