Martha "Betty" Miller Bailey

Martha "Betty" Miller Bailey, 79, of Little Cincinnati and formerly of Stinesville, passed away at 9:16 p.m. June 13, 2004 at Select Specialty Hospital in Bloomington.

Born July 16, 1924 in Paragon, she was the daughter of Daniel C. and Lora Ellen (Collier) Knipstine. Her first husband, Forrest "Hap" Miller passed away in 1969. She married Burl N. Bailey on July 13, 1984.

She was a homemaker and Group Leader for RCA, where she retired in 1986. A 1942 graduate of Stinesville High School, she was a member of the Stinesville Church of the Nazarene, attended Sharkey Pentecostal Church and belonged to the Bloomington American Legion Auxiliary. She also enjoyed making ceramics and sharing them with family and friends.

Survivors include: her husband Burl N. "Pat" Bailey of Little Cincinnati; her husband's children, two sons, Steve Bailey of Indianapolis and Randy Bailey of Little Cincinnati and one daughter Pam Bailey of Camby; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; nine nephews, Daniel Knipstine of Bloomington, Reland Cramer of Martinsville, Thomas Cramer of Whitehall, Carl DeWar of Bloomington, Tom Marsh of Spencer, Floyd Marsh, Jr. of Patricksburg, Ron Marsh of Speedway, Larry Summitt of Bloomington, Stephen Summitt of Stinesville; two nieces, Judy Arthur and Mary Ellen Smith, both of Stinesville; one brother-in-law William Summitt of Stinesville; two sisters-in-law, Helen Bailey of Solsberry and Kathryn and her husband Eugene Stauffer of Springville.

She was preceded in death by her first husband Forrest "Hap" Miller in 1969, her little boy Paul Edward Miller in 1961, two brothers James and Kenneth Knipstine and five sisters, Mary Cramer McIntyre, Lillian DeWar, Nelia Marsh, Dorothy Summitt and one in infancy.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. on Saturday at Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home Bloomfield with the Rev. Sharron Skinner officiating. Burial will be in Carmichael Cemetery Solsberry.

Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, and one hour prior to service Saturday at the funeral home.
