William (Ceph) Mowery, 80, of Linton, passed away at 8:05 p.m. Thursday, June 25, 2004 at his residence.
He was born Jan 18, 1924 in Greene County to William Henry and Clara Belle (Cooksey) Mowery.
He was a retired farmer and logger and an avid horse pulling enthusiast.
Survivors include: two brothers, Elmer Mowery of Worthington and Carroll Mowery of Linton; seven sisters, Helen Acord of Yucca Valley, Calif., Mary Jane Yates of Bloomington, Ina Cardinal of Bruceville, Effie Smiley and Marcella McDonald of Linton, Ethel White and Carolyn White of Lyons; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, James E. Mowery and Franklin L. Mowery; and two sisters, Edna Rhoten and Martha Summerville.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. on Monday at Newkirk's Funeral Home in Dugger with the Rev. Mark Mowery officiating. Burial will be in Stafford Cemetery.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. on Sunday, and from 9 a.m. until the time of service Monday at the funeral home.
