Richard Alan Hamlin, 39, of Bloomfield, passed away Saturday, May 1, 2004 at 7:50 p.m. at Greene County General Hospital.
Born June 30, 1964 in Linton, he was the son of John David and Patricia Lynn (Browning) Hamlin. He was married to Valerie D. (Sargent) Hamlin.
He was production manager for the Bedford Times-Mail newspaper in Bedford and a member of the Elnora Outdoor Club. He formerly served as business manager of The Bloomfield Evening World and The Bloomfield News. He was a member of the Bloomfield Church of Christ.
Survivors include, his wife, Valerie D. (Sargent) Hamlin of Bloomfield; one son, Trent Alan of Bloomfield; his parents, John David and Patricia Lynn Hamlin of Bloomfield; one brother, Tony Hamlin of Avon; one sister, Becky Long of Bloomfield; his paternal grandfather, John Marcus Hamlin of Bloomfield; and his maternal grandmother, Wilma I. Browning of Spencer.
He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Opal Dawn Hamlin, who passed away June 12 2003; his paternal grandmother, Evelyn Irene Hamlin; and his maternal gGrandfather, Thomas Lester Browning.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday at the Bloomfield Church of Christ with Mr. Tom Woody officiating. Burial will be in the Grandview Cemetery, Bloomfield.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today at Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home in Bloomfield, and from 9 a.m. on Wednesday until the hour of service at the Bloomfield Church of Christ.
