Charles Robert "Bob" Merry, 63, of Sandborn, passed away at 9:45 p.m., May 21, 2004 at St. Elizabeth Anne Seton Hospital in Carmel.
Born July 19, 1940 in Linton, he was the son of Edgar and Mildred G. (Freed) Merry. He married Mary Louise (Canady) Merry on April 27, 1988.
He had been a truck driver for Huey Farms with 18 years of service when he retired in 1995. He was in the U.S. Army Reserve/National Guard and a member of the Sandborn United Methodist Church and the American Legion Post 245 of Elnora.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Louise; one son, Kevin Merry of Sandborn; one daughter, Kim Miller of Bicknell; one step-son, David C. Foster of Bloomfield; two step-daughters, Kathy White of Switz City and Lisa King of Switz City; six grandchildren, Tylee and Trenon Miller, Ashley Secovia, Hillary, Hannah and Nick Merry; eight step-grandchildren and three step-great grandchildren; and two sisters, Sue Axley of Morton, Ill., and Martha Thompson of Greenwood
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Jack Merry, and a step-daughter, Lori Foster.
Funeral service will be at 9 a.m. on Tuesday at Anderson-Poindexter Sandborn Chapel with the Rev. Tom Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Sandborn Cemetery. Graveside service will be conducted by Elnora American Legion Post 245 and the Odon VFW 9627.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
