Mattie Marie Davis, 86, of Bloomfield, passed away Saturday, April 3, 2004, at 9:30 a.m. at Crestview Nursing Home in Vincennes.
Born Aug. 15, 1917 in Crockett County, Tenn., she was the daughter of Jeff Ethridge and Willie (Cunningham) Privett.
She was a homemaker, a member of the Mount Zion Wesleyan Church and American Legion Auxiliary 450 in Solsberry.
Survivors include her husband, John Davis of Vincennes; two sons, John E. Ausman and his wife Joan of Avon, Richard Lee Ausman and his wife Nancy of Bloomfield; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, John W. Ausman, who died in 1969; her second husband, Harvey Higgins, who died in 1980; two brothers, Julian and Oneal Privett; two great-grandchildren, John Eric Ausman and Alicia Lenae Ausman; and her parents.
Funeral service will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Jenkins and Sons Funeral Home in Bloomfield with the Rev. Don English and the Rev. Barry Granden officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Cemetery in Bloomfield.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. on Thursday until the time of service.
