Mildred Allen Lucas, 96, of Bloomfield, passed away Saturday, April 10, 2004, at 1:30 a.m. at Glenburn Home in Linton.
Born March 14, 1908 in Mineral, she was the daughter of Lon and Sarah (Haywood) Allen.
She was owner and operator of Lucas West Side Market in Bloomfield, and a homemaker. She was a member of the Bloomfield Order of Eastern Star, Bloomfield American Legion Auxiliary, and the Bloomfield First Christian Church.
Survivors include two sons, Kenneth Lucas of Bloomfield and James Lucas of Greenwood; one daughter, Betty Jo Steward of Bloomfield; one brother, Carl Allen of Bloomfield; one sister, Margaret Hardesty of Bloomfield; 11 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond T. Lucas, who passed away in 1957; one son, Francis Earl Lucas, who passed away in 2000; five brothers; one sister; and her parents.
Funeral service will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home in Bloomfield with the Rev. Arlen Pope and the Rev. Danny Caulkins officiating. Burial will follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today, and one hour prior to service Tuesday.
The Bloomfield Order of the Eastern Star will have a special service today at 7 p.m.
