Lucille Helen Coffey, 92, of Lyons, passed away Monday, April 12, 2004 at 10:40 p.m. at Greene County General Hospital.
Born July 4, 1911 in Greene County, she was the daughter of James and Josephine (Surmont) French.
She was employed by the FW Woolworth Co. in Chicago, Ill., for over 25 years. She moved back to the Lyons area in 1972, and worked as the clerk-treasurer for the Town of Lyons for over seven years. She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church and the American Legion and VFW Ladies Auxiliaries, all in Linton.
Survivors include one cousin, Francis Oldhan of New Castle.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Harold Johnson, who passed away in 1957; her second husband James Coffey, who passed away in 1978; and her parents.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Peter Catholic Church at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday with Father Hilary Vieck officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
Visitation will be at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home, Linton Chapel, from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday, and after 9 a.m. until the time of service Thursday.
A Scripture Service will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
