Cletho Summerville, 87, of Lyons, passed away Wednesday, April 21, 2004, at 2:50 p.m. at Lyons Health and Living Center.
Born Feb. 27, 1917 in Daviess County, he was the son of Thomas Franklin and Allie Gertrude (Cox) Summerville.
He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran and dairy farmer, a member of the American Legion Post 479, and a member of the 8th Air Force 305th Bomb Group Memorial Association.
Survivors include two sons, Gilbert Summerville of Linton and Jerry Summerville of Dugger; five grandchildren, Marc and Erica Summerville and Mike, Ellen, and Jessica Summerville; two great grandchildren; and one sister, Mary Cooper of Vincennes.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Mae (Mowery) Summerville, whom he married on July 2, 1947 and she passed away April 27, 2001; one daughter, Janet Mae Summerville; three sisters, Lois Estabrook, Lillie Powell, and Garnet Clayton; and three brothers, Arthur Summerville, David Summerville, and twin brother Leo Summerville.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday at Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel in Linton. Burial will follow at the Stafford Cemetery in Sandborn with military graveside service.
