Leona M. (Lee) Ooley, 75, passed away Wednesday, Marrch 3, 2004 at 6:50 a.m. at Greene County General Hospital.
Born May 3, 1928 in Greene County, she was the daughter of Leroy and Lillie (Hall) Tolen.
She was a homemaker and a sales clerk for Farmer's Shoe Store in Bloomfield; a member of the Bloomfield United Methodist Church; Delta Theta Tau; and The Monday Morning Coffee Girls.
Survivors include one daughter, Donna Smith and her husband Jerry of Owensburg; one son, Dennis Ooley and his wife Sandy of Bloomington; one brother, Frank Tolen of Indianapolis; two sisters, Anna Shilkett of Linton and Lena Wilson of Satsuma, Ala.; 12 grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John J. (Ike) Ooley; her parents; her step-mother Pearl Tolen; one brother; two sisters; and one great granddaughter.
There will be a Delta Theta Tau memorial service Friday evening, and funeral service will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home in Bloomfield with the Rev. Billy Ed Hostettler and the Rev. Jerry Wibert officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Cemetery in Bloomfield.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, and from noon until the time of service Saturday.
Donations in lieu of flowers are requested to be made to the American Cancer Society, Greene County Unit, or the Alzheimer's Association.
