Linton teen faces charges

Thursday, March 4, 2004

A Linton teen is facing charges of child molesting and sexual misconduct with a minor.

Charges were filed in Greene Superior Court on Tuesday against David K. Wiggins, 19. The charges stem from incidents involving a 13 year old and a 14-year-old girl.

Wiggins was hanging around a house in Linton with the girls. He was told by two adults the girls' ages and that he should not be hanging around them. When interviewed by Julie Martin, an investigator with the Greene County Prosecutor's Office, Wiggins denied having sexual intercourse with either of the girls.

However another friend of the girls had told investigators that she had walked into her bedroom and caught Wiggins having sexual intercourse with the 14 year old and on another occasion the 13 year old.

According to court documents, Wiggins agreed to take a polygraph test. Martin drove him to the examination with polygrapher Dan Gress.

Wiggins failed the polygraph.

He admitted to Gress that he had had sexual intercourse with both girls. He also stated that he did know how old they were at the time, according to court documents.

A warrant for Wiggins' arrest has been issued by Greene Superior Judge David Holt.
