Dillon M. Gauthey, 18, died Saturday, March 6, 2004, at Bloomington Hospital from injuries sustained an in automobile accident earlier that day.
Born Dec. 12, 1985, in Bloomington, he was the son of Michael and Robin (Fawbush) Gauthey.
He was a graduate of Bloomington High School South and had just completed his studies on Friday, March 5. He was well known for his love of horses. He was a member of the National Barrel Horse Association and a four-time World Qualifier for the National Barrel Horse Championship. He was a nine-year member of the Vaqueros 4-H Horse and Pony Club in Monroe County and the Monroe County Saddle Club. He had planned to attend farrier school in Macon, Ill., this coming January. He was employed at Baker Stone Work and also with Jeff Hanna of Bloomington.
Survivors include his parents, of Bloomington; a sister and brother-in-law, Jessica and Ben Bowman of Sandborn; grandparents Ivan and Peg Fawbush of Columbus; an uncle and aunt, Steve and Sharon Fawbush of Columbus; a cousin, Megan Fawbush of Ellettsville, and many friends.
Service will be 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday at Allen Funeral Home, 3000 East Third St. in Bloomington.
Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. today and one hour preceding the services at the funeral home.
Cremation services will follow the funeral.
