MARTINSVILLE ---- Glenn R. Palmer, 67, passed away Sunday, March 7, 2004, at Charlestown.
Born Dec. 19, 1936 in Worthington, he was the son of William and Lilly (Ham) Palmer.
He was a retired electronic engineer at Raytheon. Prior to that he worked at Hughes and at Naval Air Warfare Center, and he was also an instructor at Ivy Tech where he taught algebra. He was a member of the Olive United Methodist church in Martinsville, and a lifetime member of VFW 1257, and a member of the Senior Center in Martinsville. He was also a retired Master Sargent in the U.S. Army, retired after 21 years.
Survivors include two sons, Brian Palmer of Las Vegas, Nev., and Charles Palmer of New York, N.Y.; three daughters, Ann Marie Atwood of Martinsville, Karen Vazquez of Martinsville, and Dina Dillender of Martinsville; two brothers, Carl Palmer of Indianapolis and Murlin Palmer of Indianapolis; one sister, Alice Windisch of Martinsville; 12 granchildren; four step grandchildren; and one step great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Judith Ann (Elmore) Palmer; his parents; and two brothers, William "Buddy" Palmer, and Don Palmer.
Funeral service will be at Mount Olive United Methodist Church in Martinsville on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Jim McCallie and Pastor Dan Durham officiating. Burial will follow with a military service at Mount Olive Fairview Cemetery.
Friends may call Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. at Costin Funeral Chapel in Martinsville.
