VINCENNES - Margaret Jean Jackson, 80, of Vincennes, passed away Friday, March 19, 2004, at 5:30 p.m. at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes.
Born July 5, 1923, in Knox County, she was the daughter of Carl and Aleda (Strate) Held.
She was a volunteer for over 25 years at the Glenburn Nursing Home in Linton, a member of the Pleasantville United Methodist Church, and currently attended the First United Methodist Church in Vincennes.
Survivors include one son, James J. Jackson and his wife Donna of Linton; one daughter, Patricia K. Wilson and her husband Dr. Stephen Wilson of Vincennes; two brothers, Herbert (Ike) Held of Freelandville, and Richard Held of Hammond; two sisters, Dorothy Pitts of Caseyville, Ill., and Mary Harris of San Diego, Calif.; five grandchildren, Jamie Haldeman, Lisa Booe, Jill Bohnert, all of Linton, Stephen Douglas Wilson of Lascassas, Tenn., and Stephen Rob Wilson of Bloomington; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James R. Jackson in 1994; three brothers, Robert Held, John Held, and Bruce Held; and her parents.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. today at Newkirk's Funeral Home in Dugger with Rev. John Groves officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Moriah Cemetery. Friends may call from 9 a.m. today until time of service.
Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the Pleasantville United Methodist Church, and the First United Methodist Church in Vincennes.
