Dorothy M. Powell, 85, of Linton, passed away Tuesday, March 23, 2004, at 5:55 p.m. at her residence.
Born Dec. 2, 1920 in Iowa, she was the daughter of John and Catherine (McMahon) Doyle.
She retired in 1980 from G. E. after 27 years, she was a member of St. Peters Church in Linton, and St. Ann Altar Society.
Survivors include one son, John Powell and his wife Rita of Linton; three daughters, Karen Dillon and her husband Wayne of Gurnee, Ill., Catherine A. Cox of Switz City, and Nancy Pritchard and her husband James of Linton; nine grandchildren, Chad Heath, Doug Powell, Dylan Pritchard, Cassie Neel, Jacob Pritchard, Chanin Trosky, Joshua Pritchard, Monty Kiel Cox, and Sherry Carpenter.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Powell, whom she married on May 13, 1944 and passed away in 1988; two brothers, Vince and Clair Doyle, on great grandchild, Logan Powell, and her parents.
Funeral services will be held at St. Peters Catholic Church at 10 a.m. Friday with Rev. Hiliary Vieck officiating. Burial will follow at the Fairview Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 - 8 p.m. Thursday, with Rosary at 7:30 p.m.
