BLOOMFIELD ---- Bertus Waldo Doane, 63, of Bloomfield, passed away Saturday, March 27, 2004 at 12:35 a.m. at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
Born Sept. 28, 1940 in Bruceville, he was the son of James Walter (Pete) and Opal Mae (Lankford) Doane.
He was retired, and had served in the Airforce Peacetime Service.
Survivors include three daughters, Melody Diane Doane and her husband, Brian Travis Sr., of Hudson, Fla., Linda Joanne Cook and her husband Mark Lee of Pinson, Ala., and Ellen May Ingram and her husband Jeffrey Paul of Okeechobee, Fla.; four brothers, Darrell Doane of Loogootee, Carl Doane of Bloomfield, Charles Doane of Parma, Ohio, and Paul Doane of Crane; three sisters, Mary Jane Quiller of Odon, Mona Doane of Bloomfield, and Viola York of Bedford; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, one sister, and his parents.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday at Jenkins and Sons Funeral Home in Bloomfield with the Rev. Billy Ed Hostettler officiating. Burial will follow at Warth Cemetery in Decker Chapel.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today, and from 9 a.m. until the time of service Tuesday.
