Edith M. Baker, 84, of Bloomfield, passed away on Monday, March 29, 2004, at 9:30 a.m. at Greene County General Hospital in Linton.
Born Dec. 12, 1919, in Newark, she was the daughter of Aaron L. and Opal (Hart) Arthur.
She was retired from the Crane Federal Credit Union and a member of Bloomfield Baptist Church.
Survivors include four daughters, Mary Godsey and husband Earl Leroy of Springville, Margie Burgess and husband Bob of Worthington, Pat Stoelting and husband Richard of Bloomfield, and Pam Deckard and husband Dennis of Bloomfield; four sons, Don Baker and wife Virginia of Cataract, Paul Baker and wife Betty of Springville, Gary Baker and wife Cheryl of Bloomfield, and Tom Baker and wife Cathy of Linton; daughter-in-law Grace Baker of Springville; 30 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond L. Baker, who passed away on April 8, 1970; one son, Ray A. Baker; one brother, Chester Arthur; one infant sister, Josephine Arthur; one sister, Bertha Malone; one great-granddaughter, Alicia Lenae Ausman; and her parents.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield with the Rev. Pat Arthur officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Kentucky Ridge Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday, and from 9 a.m. until the time of service Thursday.
