Ruby Puckett, 87, of Vincennes, passed away March 30, 2004 at 1:19 a.m. at Bridge Pointe Health Campus in Vincennes.
She was born Sept. 23, 1916 in Sandborn to Walter and Emma (Sanders) Killion.
She retired in 1975 after serving as librarian at the Sandborn Library and working as a grocery store cashier in her husband's Red and White and Lucky Dollar grocery stores. She was a member of Sandborn United Methodist Church.
She married Herbert W. Puckett on Feb. 18, 1936.
She is survived by one son, Jackie W. Puckett of Carmel, and five grandchildren and one step-grandchild, Russell, Brian, Brice, Maria and Michael Puckett and Michelle Lavin.
She was preceded in death by her husband on Dec. 12, 1976; one brother John Killion; and two sisters Violet Brewer and Mable Rhodes.
Funeral service will be Saturday at Anderson-Poindexter Sandborn Chapel at 11 a.m. wtih Tom Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Sandborn Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home.
