William Joseph "Bill" Deatrick, 88, of Worthington, passed away at 9:15 p.m. Tuesday Feb. 3, 2004, at Lyons Health and Living Center.
He was born March 16, 1915, in New Albany to William C. and Corrine (Rutledge) Deatrick.
He was a building contractor and retired farmer. He was a member of the Worthington Christian Church, Worthington Masonic Lodge 577 F&AM and was a director of the Worthington State Bank for 25 years. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Harriett (Landis) Deatrick of Worthington; three daughters, Mary Jane Clayton of Harbor Springs, Mich., Linda Clark of Huntsville, Texas, and Nancy Vassar of Worthington; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and two sisters.
Funeral service will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Welch and Cornett Funeral Home in Worthington with Sherman Thomas officiating. Burial will be in the Worthington Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the funeral home from 5-9 p.m. on Sunday, and Monday from 9 a.m. until the hour of service. Masonic service will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home.
Memorials may be given to the Disabled Veterans.
