Richard R. "Dick" Mullis, 68, of Tell City, died Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at Owensboro Medical Health System in Kentucky.
He was born May 23, 1935 in Linton, the son of Paul H. and Ethel M. (Wadleigh) Mullis.
He was a member of the Indiana National Guard, the First Christian Church of Troy, Ind., and the Masonic Lodge in Tell city. He was a past member of the Murat Shrine in Indianapolis, Scottish Rite of Terre Haute, and was Lt. Governor of Kiwanis in 1976. He also was a member of American Legion Post 129 of Greensburg. he was employed by Farm Bureau Insurance in Greensburg for 29 years, and was retired.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Sandra (Evans) Mullis of Tell City; son, Ernest and wife Donna Mullis of Ringgold, Ga.; daughter, Nicole Bays of Evansville; six grandchildren; and one sister, Mary Kay Toon of Worthington.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
The funeral service will be 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at Scotland Memorial Chapel at Scotland Cemetery with the Revs. Billy Ed Hostettler and Ray Howard officiating. Burial will follow.
Visitation will be at 11:30 a.m. until the time of service Tuesday.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Scotland Memorial Chapel Fund in care of Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield.
