BLOOMFIELD ---- Edith Marie Hamilton, 97, of Bloomfield, passed away at 7:20 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 15, at Lyons Health and Living Center.
Born May 2, 1906, in Taylor Township in Greene County, she was the daughter of Riley Owen Gainey and Frances E. Bennett Gainey.
She was employed at the Crane NSWC Ammunition Department during World War II. She formerly owned a grocery store in Owensburg and a laundromat in Bedford, and was retired. She was a member of the Owensburg Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Rosemary McKamey of Bloomfield and Virginia D. Rush of Owensburg; eight grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Zelbert Swango; second husband, Paul Boruff, and third husband, Oval C. Hamilton; two grandsons; one great-granddaughter; two brothers, George and Walter Gainey; and a sister, Jenny.
Services will be 2 p.m. on Saturday at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield with the Rev. Merla Craig officiating. Burial will be in Owensburg Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home, and from 1 p.m. until the hour of service Saturday.
