Leland E. Craig, 68, of Bloomfield, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2004 at 2:20 a.m. in his residence.
Born in Martin County on June 12, 1935, he was the son of Dwight and Helen Perkins Craig.
He was a construction worker for Ralph Rogers Company for 40 years and was a farmer. He was a member of the Tunnel Hill Pentecostal Church.
Survivors include his wife, Joan (Hoff) Craig of Bloomfield, whom he married May 25, 1955; four sons, Morse Craig, Mark Craig, Tommy Craig and Marvin Craig, all of Bloomfield; two daughters, Sandy Craig of Bloomfield and Sharlet Messel of Sandborn; his mother Helen (Perkins) Craig of Mitchell; four brothers, Robert Craig of Indianapolis, Doyle Craig of Bloomfield, Roy Craig of Bedford and Donnie Craig of Bloomfield; one sister Maxine Parsley of Owensburg; and nine grandchildren.
He was preceded by his father; one son, Kenneth Craig; one brother, Johnny Craig and two sisters, Mary Jean Padgett and Betty Young.
Funeral service will be Friday at 10 a.m. at the Tunnel Hill Pentecostal Church in Bloomfield with the Rev. Bruce Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in Scotland Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday, and one hour prior to service Friday at the church. Jenkins and Sons Funeral Home in Bloomfield is in charge of arrangements.
