INDIANAPOLIS ---- Roy F. Owen, 88, of Indianapolis, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2004 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
He was born in Clay County on Jan. 31, 1916, and was the son of Everett and Alpina (Burris) Owen.
He served in World War II in the Army, and was an inspector of National Bureau of Standards and Calibrations for Naval Avionics for 36 years. He was a member of the Bridgeport Masonic Lodge 162, Indiana Guard Reserve, a Boy Scout Leader and a member of the Wesleyan Methodist Church.
Survivors include his spouse, Louise (Earles) Owen; one son, Fred Owen; one daughter, Mary Louise Crivellia; five sisters, Myla Hash, Ida Sipes, Hazel Morris, Norma Eavey, and Agnes Earle; one brother, Everett Owen; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Roy Thomas Owen.
Memorial service will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Conkle Funeral Home, Lynhurst Chapel.
Friends may call today from 3 - 8 p.m.
Burial will follow on Saturday at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Greenwood.
