Wayne E. Brannon, 80, died Saturday, Jan. 10, 2004, at his residence in Linton.
Born in Linton Oct. 15, 1923, he was the son of Roy and Maude (Fullom) Brannon.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving aboard the U.S.S. Tulagi during World War II. He formerly worked at RCA in Bloomington, the Bloomfield Silo Company and Keller Chair Factory in Linton. He also did some construction work. He attended the Church of Christ in Linton.
Survivors include one brother, Donald Brannon of Linton; two sisters, Mary Heaton of Bargersville and Emma Vernon of San Antonio, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Homer Glenn Brannon, in February 1982.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 13, at Welch and Cornett Funeral Home Linton Chapel with the Bro. Jerry Carmichael officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery south of Linton. Military graveside rites will be given by American Legion Post 22 of Linton.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of the service Tuesday.
