BLOOMFIELD ---- Louise Edington, 88, of Bloomfield, died at 6:20 p.m. Jan. 8 at her daughter's home in Greene County.
Born America Louise Marlin on Nov. 14, 1915, in Vigo County, she was the daughter of John and Mary Gallian Marlin.
She was an assembly worker for Sarkes Tarzian, had also worked at RCA and NWSC Crane, and managed a farm with her children. She was a member of the Solsberry Methodist Church, Women's Society for Christian Service and the Little Cincinnati Womens Homemakers Club. She enjoyed reading, quilting, the ocean, growing things, travel, mountain climbing and her winter home in Florida.
Survivors include a daughter, Mary C. Collings and her husband, Chane, of Bloomfield; a son, James Alva (Jim) Edington and his wife, Anita, of Bloomfield; a brother, Dan Marlin of California; grandchildren Beth and Phil Petrillo, Jerry and Dian Edington, Ed and Kim Couch, Phyllis and Dave Stalker, Patty and Steve May, Rob and Cindy Couch, James P. and Angela Edington; step-grandchildren Darl and Linda Collings, Kathy and Darius Dustin, Karen and Kent Suiters; seven great-grandchildren; and a daughter-in-law, Catherine E. Edington of Englewood, Fla.
She had a total of 21 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren at the time of her death.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ray A. Edington, whom she married in 1932, in August 1993; a son, John Edward, in 1999; two brothers, Elias P. and Louis Marlin; a grandchild, Melissa Dawn Edington and a great-grandchild, Leslie Jane Couch.
Service was at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 11, at Jenkins and Sons Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Rev. Bob England officiating. Burial was in Beach Grove Cemetery in Bedford.
