Freda A. Taylor, 88 of Linton, passed away at 7:15 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 18, 2004 at Glenburn Nursing Home in Linton.
She was born Sept. 13, 1915 in Greene County to Virgil and Lura Gertrude Hale Trinkle.
She and her husband, Marvin Taylor, were co-owners with Delmar and June Hasler of Welch and Cornett Funeral Home from 1965-76. She retired from Peoples Trust Company. She was a member of the Linton First Baptist Church and Eastern Star Chapter 140 in Linton.
She is survived by her husband, Marvin Taylor; one daughter and son-in-law Sharon and Don Jones of Linton; son-in-law John K. Wible of Sullivan; a sister Dorothy Cox of New Goshen; two sisters-in-law Betty Trinkle of Linton and Judith Trinkle of Sullivan, Mo.; four grandchildren, Michael Jones of Linton, Beverly Westfall of Linton, John Wible of Valparaiso and Garrick Wible of Louisville, Ky.; and seven great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Marlyas Wible; a sister Iris Tryon-French; two brothers Orland "Dutch" Trinkle and Hubert Trinkle; two step-sisters Leona Chambers and Mildred Easter and her parents.
Funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at Welch and Cornett Funeral Home in Linton with the Rev. David Tyra officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, and after 9 a.m. on Wednesday.
