Monte Ray Andrew Bland, 33, of Linton, died at 11 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 25, 2004, at his residence in Linton.
Born June 11, 1970, in Wheatridge, Colo., he was the son of Clyde Andrew and Jacquelen (Faidherbe) Bland.
He had worked for Keller Aluminum Chair Factory in Linton, KPT in Bloomfield and presently for Waste Management in Sumner, Ill., as a heavy equipment operator. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Moose Lodge, and Sons of the American Legion, all of Linton. He was a 1989 graduate of Linton-Stockton High School.
Survivors include his parents, of Linton; maternal grandmother, Wanda Faidherbe Baker of Linton; a son, Christopher Dalton Bland of Lyons; a sister, Charity Jackson of Linton; a niece, Brooke Jackson of Linton; and a nephew, Bryant Jackson of Linton.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Loren Baker and Jack Faidherbe, and paternal grandparents, Clyde and Beulah Bland.
Services will be 11 a.m. on Thursday at the Welch and Cornett Linton Chapel with the Rev. Kenneth Adams officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday, and after 9 a.m. Friday.
