BLOOMFIELD ---- Russell L. Basye, 46, of Bloomfield, died at 4:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, 2003, in Greene County General Hospital in Linton.
Born Jan. 17, 1957, in Linton, he was the son of John Franklin and Helen M. Hash Basye.
He was a HVAC service technician for Branstetter-Pullen Heating and Air-Conditioning Inc. in Bloomfield. He was currently serving on the Bloomfield Town Council. He was worshipful master of the Bloomfield Masonic Lodge 84; Terre Haute Zorah Shrine; was past president of the Greene County Shrine Club; Bloomfield Order of Eastern Star; Worthington Sons of the American Legion; president of the Greene County Emergency Management Advisory Council; and a member of the Greene County Local Emergency Planning Committee. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Bloomfield.
Survivors include his wife, Janet (Hampton) Basye of Bloomfield; two daughters, Brandi Picou and her husband Jim of Bloomfield, and Christina Small and her husband Scott of Bloomfield; a son, Douglas Basye of Bloomfield; his mother, Helen M. Basye of Bloomfield; two sisters, Barbara Abrams of Bloomfield and Blenda Price of Greenwood; a grandson, Jordon Picou of Bloomfield; and two granddaughters, Katie Small and Ashley Small, both of Bloomfield.
He was preceded in death by his father in 1977.
Services will be 1 p.m. on Tuesday at the Bloomfield First Christian Church with the Rev. Arlen Pope and the Rev. Danny Caulkins officiating. Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-9 p.m. today.
Masonic services will be at 7:30 p.m. today at Jenkins and Sons Funeral Home in Bloomfield.
