Helen Elizabeth Kennedy, 93, died Thursday, Dec. 11, at Odyssey Hospice in Tucson, Ariz.
She was born in Lewisville, Ind., on March 21, 1910, the daughter of Ira and Edith H. (Hayes) Jackson.
She and her husband moved from Connersville to Linton in 1949 where they owned Linton Auto Supply for several years. She was a member of the St. Peter Catholic Church where she was a member of the St. Anne's Altar Society, of which she was a former president. Other memberships include Delta Theta Tau Sorority in Linton and the William Clenny Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Survivors include two sons, Robert F. (Margaret) Kennedy of Tucson, Ariz., and Jeff Kennedy of Oak Brook, Ill.; one daughter, Sharon Kennedy (Larry) Nolan of Mansfield, Texas; eight grandchildren, Deborah Kennedy of Wheeling, W. Va., Larry Kennedy of Tucson, Ariz., Denise Kennedy of Loxahatchee, Fla., Jonathan Kennedy of Baltimore, Md., Mark Kennedy of Redondo Beach, Calif., James Kennedy of Baltimore, Md., Mark Nolan of Arlington, Texas and Tiffany Ingle of Mansfield, Texas; and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Olin Kennedy, on Nov. 1, 1981; a grandson, Stephen Charles Kennedy; one brother, Jesse Jackson; one sister, Deloros Duerstock; and her parents.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Peter Catholic Church at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 17, with Father Hilary Vieck officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Linton
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, and after 9 a.m. on Wednesday until the time of service at Welch and Cornett Funeral Home Linton Chapel. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
