Mildred M. Knowles, 90, of Linton, died at 5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 19, at Linton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born Dec. 16, 1913, in Williams, Ind., she was the daughter of Hollie Bex and Stella (Keller) Bex Padgett.
She worked at Freeman-Greene County Hospital as a dietitian. She was a member of the Linton First Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Diana Kay and Steve Jerrells of Linton; three sisters, Delema Davidson of Linton, Betty McClure of Linton and Audrey Zubla of Michigan; four grandchildren, Tabitha Renee Gordon of Hymera, Amy Marie Likens of Evansville, Holly Joanne Nelson of Beama, Iowa, and Brenda Sue Denny of Indianapolis; four great-grandchildren, Amy Denny, Bryan Denny, Samantha D. Nelson and Austin C. Gordon.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Victor Knowles; her step-father, Charles Padgett; a daughter, Ronnie Mae Hale, and her parents.
Services were 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 22, at Welch and Cornett Linton Chapel with Rev. Kenneth Adams officiating. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery.
Visitation was held 3-6 p.m. Sunday and after 9 a.m. Monday.
